Isuzu Motors India has launched the BS6 D-Max V-Cross at a starting price of Rs 19.98 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Chennai) in the country. The 2021 V-Cross has been presented in three variants namely Z (2WD/AT), Z (4WD/MT) and Z Prestige (4WD/AT). In addition, the Japanese brand has also introduced an entry-level Hi-Lander variant of the pick-up at a sticker price of Rs 16.98 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Chennai). Isuzu D-Max V-Cross debuted nearly five years back at the 2016 Auto Expo while this is the first major update it has received so far in India.


The BS6 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and Hi-Lander follow the ‘Cyborg - Orca’ design language. The Hi-Lander variant, in particular, flaunts newly designed headlamps and grey-coloured grille upfront. It rides on 16-inch wheels while other exterior highlights include grey outside rear-view mirrors, body coloured door handles and blacked-out B-pillar. The rear profile gets a LED tail-lamp cluster alongside a Chrome tailgate handle. Moving on to the cabin, it is finished in a dual-tone Black and Grey theme with several premium bells and whistles such as 3D Design Instrument Cluster, 2nd Row AC Vents & USB Charging Port and Rear Parking Sensors as standard. The AC can be operated by the three dials on the centre console.

Coming to BS6 Isuzu V-Cross Z Prestige, the range-topping variant, it boasts of piano black highlights on the dashboard which is complimented by the sporty dual tone brown and grey leather seating. The exterior is dominated by multiple stylish elements like Bi-LED Auto-Levelling Projector head-lights, Shark-Fin Antenna with Gun-Metal Finish, 18-inch alloy wheels and a side step. It has been equipped with some of the first-in-segment features such as PESS (Passive Entry & Start Stop System), steering mounted audio controls and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB input, DVD, AUX, iPod and Bluetooth connectivity. Besides the existing five colours namely Silky Pearl White, Solid White, Cosmic Black, Sapphire Blue and Titanium Silver, Isuzu has introduced three new paint shades: Nautilus Blue, Spinel Red and Galena Grey.




As for safety features, the 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross comes with Brake Override System (BOS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Reverse parking sensors and a rear camera, airbags, height adjustable seat-belt with pre-tensioner & load limiter, speed sensitive auto door lock, co-driver seat belt reminder and front & rear crumple zones. Underpinning the iGRIP platform (Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform), the pick-up has a BS6 compliant 1.9L Ddi diesel engine which generates top power of 160bhp and peak torque of 360Nm. The engine is linked to a first-in-segment 6-speed manual transmission while a 6-speed automatic gearbox is also on offer. The 4WD variants comprise of Shift-On-Fly drive mode as standard.
